About Jim Gaumond
James D. Gaumond is an attorney and business leader whose career has spanned private practice, corporate counsel, affordable housing finance, organizational leadership, and community development. Throughout his career, Jim has focused on helping individuals, families, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders navigate complex legal and strategic issues while pursuing practical, long-term solutions.
Before joining Aevitas Law, Jim served in senior legal and advisory roles in both the private and public sectors. His experience includes serving as General Counsel to a national company, leading regulatory affairs for a state affordable housing finance agency, and advising developers, housing authorities, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community partners on affordable housing, mixed-use development, organizational strategy, and community initiatives. He has also worked extensively with professional athletes and other leaders seeking to use their platforms and resources to strengthen communities.
At Aevitas, Jim brings that broad experience to his work with clients and to the continued development of the firm. He particularly enjoys building relationships, mentoring professionals, developing partnerships, and finding opportunities to bring together legal, financial, business, and community resources in ways that genuinely benefit the people and organizations Aevitas serves.
Outside of work, Jim’s greatest joy is his family. He and his wife, Meri, share a deep commitment to their Christian faith and to serving others. Jim is passionate about community involvement, enjoys sports and fitness, and remains actively involved with nonprofit and community-based organizations.
Jim’s favorite bible verse is Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV), For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
