James “Jay” R. Clark

With his tax and accounting background, Jay focuses his practice on wealth preservation and wealth transfer with particular depth of knowledge and experience with tax laws affecting Pennsylvania farm families.  Jay and his team have assisted families recover over $1.5 million of refunds in Pennsylvania inheritance tax paid.

Prior to his practice of law, Jay worked as an accountant in the certified public accounting firms of Coopers & Lybrand in Pittsburgh and Dorwart Andrew & Company in Lancaster.  Jay received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, with Honors, from The Pennsylvania State University.

Jay served as President of the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council, Chair of the Lancaster County Bar Association Estate Planning and Probate Law Section, and President of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning.

A frequent lecturer on estate planning, Jay has spoken about such topics as family limited partnerships, advanced charitable gifting techniques and estate settlement.

Active in the community, Jay has served on the Board of the American Cancer Society, the Lancaster Farmland Trust, the Lancaster County Cooperative Extension Association, and as Chair of the Lancaster Leave A Legacy Steering Committee.

Jay and his wife, Jill, have been blessed with two sons, Ben and John, who live in Lancaster.
